I just came across this great article about the value of going through your stash. It's a wonderful read and makes me feel totally good about the time I've spent pondering mine. The only aspect I haven't mastered yet is parting with some of it. I really should be brave and move on to the "Happy" and "Unhappy" division of the stash, but I'm not quite ready for that yet. I think I'm afraid that I'll just have to go out and replace it. (With something wonderful, ofcourse!)
In the meantime, I think I'll continue cataloguing rather than busting my pile and see where that adventure takes me. Hopefully I'll discover more 'smiley' than 'grumpy' yarn anyway.

I went through my stash a couple of months ago-looking for a skein of Mountain Moguls. I found it pretty late in the day, but I knew I had it. I reorganized and made a pile of skeins I didn't like. THey still aren't out of the house. Maybe when I move. The article was thought provoking but for now, I'm trying to bust through stash. Your Noro hat is inspiring me to bust out the noro. hahaha.
Yes, get that Noro out Rudee. I'm a bit unsure on the Sea Urchin pattern though. It's slanting as I knit it and does not look like the pictures in the pattern. I'm wondering whether the blocking afterwards is what makes it look straight? I'll let you know.
Oh, you're not thinking of tossing that Dale are you?!? You're making me nervous!
I've gone thru it all, got two big bags (to go) and actually donated one of them. The other I was going to take to a knitting meeting to see if anybody wanted any of it but we got off track with our meetings....so I kept it! LOL!!
The best intentions....
Don't worry KQ, I'm not tossing the Dale. I just didn't want you all to think I was totally without taste, so I had to post a pic of something decent.
